Barbara is originally from Washington State and has been living ten years in Hawaii. She started painting about 20 years ago. Barbara has worked with various painting media but finds oil based paint is more versatile and best suited to her style. She enjoys painting still-life; flowers and fruit and roses cascading over garden walls, which she calls her "old fashioned painting". She signs her middle name Ann to her paintings.
Barbara lives in Hawaiian Shores and in addition to painting she likes dancing and belongs to two ballroom dance clubs and at home she is actively involved in that great, never ending, outdoor activity, yardwork.
She has two daughters who come to visit her from the mainland and are also artistically inclined.
Barbara has been with the Seniors Art Group about seven years.
